Surrender a Pet

First let us say we are not a shelter or a non-profit organization.

We understand that sometimes it becomes necessary to give up a pet. We also understand that most shelters charge to relinquish a pet and when you need to give up a pet for financial reasons that becomes a hardship. Also most shelters can only take certain types and breeds.

Living in the country we see animals that were at one time a family pet abandoned on the side of the road on a regular basis. First this just breaks our hearts. Second the survival rate for a domestic house pet in the wild is very low. Most of these animals will die of starvation and dehydration if their natural predator doesn't kill them first.

If you are needing to relinquish a pet or farm animal and you can not find a shelter that will take them, please contact us. We will consider most pets. Please understand we will most likely not be these animals forever home but we will take them and find them a new forever home for you.

If your animal is sick and you can't afford the medical attention that they require please consider taking them to a vet that will allow you to surrender them to them. I know Huron Animal Hospital in Thornton (88th and Huron) is one of those vets that will take sick animals including reptiles at no charge.

Examples of some of the animals we might consider are: all rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pheasants, peacocks, guineas, pigs, cows, horses, ponies, donkeys of any size, mules, barn cats and medium to large breed dogs.
